1. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix the desiccated coconut, lime zest, lime juice, ground almonds, and cardamom well.

2. Add sweetener: Add the honey or maple syrup and stir until everything is evenly combined.

3. Add dried fruit: Chop the raisins or dates into small pieces and fold them into the mixture.

4. Form balls: Using your hands, form small balls from the mixture (about 2 cm in diameter).

5. Chill: Place the balls on a baking sheet or tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

6. Optional coating: Roll the balls in desiccated coconut before serving to give them extra flavor and a nice appearance.

Tip: You can also enhance the flavor with other spices like cinnamon or vanilla for an extra taste boost.
